Another happy week in Dave’s class!

18th February 2022Dave Robinson

Well, what a lovely ‘last week before half term’ we’ve had here in Dave’s class! We’ve had an action packed time this week with non-stop fun and exploration, with plenty of time for play too!

Our highlight this week has without a doubt been the end of half term party that we got invited to by our friends in Loveday’s class! It was a sensory dream with plenty of flashing lights and different textures for us to explore. All of the attendees had the best time getting to interact with their peer group again and we all loved getting the chance to get our bubble machine and light-up speaker out!

In class this week we’ve focused a lot on keeping moving and staying active, despite the unusually stormy weather we’ve faced. We’ve gotten outside to run around and play as much as possible; although we did take shelter from the weather on occasion and snuggled down under a blanket or two on one of the more particularly blustery day! Aside from outside play, our whole class got to keep fit in our weekly jabadao session and we all enjoyed a morning of fun in our soft play. Some of our class members also got to take part in hydro and rebound sessions, which are always well loved!

I think our whole class is looking forward to a full week off to relax and recharge our batteries after our busy little week!

We hope everyone has a brilliant half term, and we can’t wait to see everyone after the break – Dave & team 🙂

Hello from Dave’s class!

11th February 2022Dave Robinson

As always, we’ve had a fantastic week full of playing, interaction and exploration here in Dave’s class! We welcomed back some of our friends who had been off with illness with lots of big smiles and were happy to get back to playing together as one big, happy class.

Our jungle theme continued this week with an exciting morning of adventure in our sensory story, with everyone particularly enjoying seeing the grown-ups dressed up as jungle creatures! We banged the drums with an ostrich, built houses with a leopard and played in the leaves with a lion; we even got to experience a thunderstorm! The class thoroughly enjoyed their sensory morning, and we got some gorgeous photos which have been shared on our class dojo and will be getting sent home before half term.

Another highlight of our week was definitely all of the music we’ve made, both in class and in a session with our friend Tom, a music therapist. We loved exploring lots of different instruments to figure out what different sounds they could produce, and we had lots of happy interaction when Tom got his guitar out and sang a special song with all of our names included.

Some of our class have also paid visits to the hydrotherapy pool, enjoyed sessions in rebound and soft play, and we all have spent as much time as possible playing outside in the leaves!

All in all, we’ve had another jam-packed week of fun here in Dave’s class and we’re looking forward to doing it all again next week before half-term rolls around!

Have a lovely weekend, Dave & team 🙂

This week in Dave’s Class

5th November 2021Dave Robinson

This morning we had an amazing time at ‘Grubbins Wood’. We had music, play, drama and exploration all within a fantastic sensory environment. We particularly liked exploring the jam – we got very sticky and messy!

Everyone was engaged and interested throughout with lots of smiles and laughter!

This afternoon we had a party to celebrate Emma’s birthday this weekend and enjoyed a firework display in the adventure playground.

We’ve had another action packed week for our final week of the half term. We have enjoyed getting stuck into a lot of Halloween activities, including decorating the classroom door, exploring pumpkins and singing spooky Halloween songs.

We all look fab in our Halloween costumes and will enjoy a little Halloween party in class this afternoon too.

Hope everyone has a lovely half term holiday – see you all in a week!

This week we welcomed our new friend Lara. We have all made sure she has had a lovely week and has settled into Hadrian School. Lara has been learning lots of new things in school and wowing us on a daily basis. We are all looking forward to a lovely year with Lara.

What another busy week we have had!

Our highlight of the week has been our Bake Off win!

For Harvest Festival, we each choose a country which represented a member of our class and baked some food from that country, which would be judged in assembly. We chose Nepal to represent Subasna and her family.

We had a fun afternoon exploring flour and dough, creating our Nepalese ‘Gurung Bread’. We enjoyed listening to some music from Nepal while we worked too!

When it was assembly time, it was lovely to see all the different countries, cultures and cuisines represented in Hadrian School. After a sampling of our bread from the judges, we were awarded a million, billion, squillion points – making us the clear winners! We were all very pleased and loved our medals from Mr. Rollings.

As well as this, we have had a visit from an army truck, painted and played outside to name just a few other things we have enjoyed!

We have had another lovely week at school. We have had quite a musical week, with a performance from a Colombian band and a lovely session in our music shack. Emma has been doing some lovely work on her climbing and phsyic in Jabadao and Subasna is making excellent progress with her new walker.

2nd July 2021Dave Robinson

This week we have had a very arty week! We have been preparing for sports week by making flags for the flag ceremony on Monday. Our colours are yellow, black and green – can you guess which country we chose?

We have also been doing some seaside art for some seaside play we plan on doing towards the end of term.

On Thursday we made some Olympic torches and explored cellophane and tissue. We had lots of fun playing and being silly!

We are all very excited for our sports week!

This week has been a busy week as always! On Thursday after several weather related delays we finally got to reveal our Hadrian Outdoor Art Gallery. We proudly displayed our artwork along with a video of the process of making it and loved to see the amazing artwork which had been created by the other classes.

On Friday afternoon we celebrated Dale’s birthday with some play with our friends from Babs and June’s class and a lovely party snack outside in the sun.

Have a lovely half term!
