Hi everyone,

We have continued our topic of inventions and this week we have been looking at telephones! We talked about the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell, and how he made his invention. As part of this we talked about how sound is made by movement and vibration. We owe a huge thanks to Tracy, who brought in her son’s cello for us all to try. The children loved playing the cello, and got to feel the vibrations the instrument made as it was playing. Thank you also to Klaudia, who brought in an old dial telephone for us to look at and explore. We have looked at the different styles of phones throughout the years and how they have changed, and tried to think which were old and which ones were new. In art we have also made our own cardboard telephones, and we have used telephones to have some office role play.

In food technology we have also learned how to cook eggs on toast, which went down a treat! We then sequenced and recounted the process in English. A big congratulations to Aurora, who is our Half term achiever for last half term!

Enjoy the weekend everyone!
