Its been lovely having the children back in school this week after the holidays, hope it was a relaxing and magical Christmas and New year break for everyone.

All the children have settled back into routine very well and have worked very hard on their skills this week, we have done lots of sensory activities, communication and physical work. We are looking forward to this term and all of the activities we have planned.

Happy New Year.

10th January 2020Scott Marshall

Dear Parents/Carers

Happy New Year from all of us in class 6a. We hope you had a wonderful holiday and a great New Year. We have got straight back into our routine and the children have been working very hard all week. Looking at how germs spread has been a highlight of the week and the children enjoyed using the green paint to show how they spread. We have enjoyed our first sing school session of the year and we have been very lucky to have the Stage Coach bus in our playground. The children are very excited and are coming up with some great ideas on how we can use the bus. Next week we will be swimming at Sir Charles Parsons School on Thursday.

Thank you

Scott, Ann, Jen, Katy, Susan

Yesterday afternoon we had our Christmas Party. We played party games and there were lots of prizes to be won. There were lots of songs to dance to, as you can see in some of the photos we were showing everyone our best moves! We also had a special visit from Santa and received another lovely gift. Afterwards we had lots of party food! We had so much fun!

Thank you for your continued support and generous gifts. We really appreciate it.

Have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year!

20th December 2019Rachael Budden

We have had one last final week of Christmas fun together in 6b!  We have had a number of visits from Santa (with presents!), Christmas dinner, our Christmas party and we’ve finished off our Christmas cooking and craft. Phew!  I think we are in need of a holiday!  Have a wonderful Christmas and new year and we will see you back on January 7th 2020.

We’re Christmas Crackers!

20th December 2019Antonia White

The Christmas festivities have continued all this week!

On Wednesday, we did some festive baking and we made not one, but TWO things!

First of all, we made marshmallow snowmen that we decorated with chocolate Matchsticks and skillfully drew eyes and noses on using icing pens – tricky work!

We also made reindeer cakes – chocolate buns with pretzels for antlers, a Smartie for a nose and chocolate buttons for eyes. It was great fun making them all and, as well as sending a cake home, we also got to eat one at snack time!

On Thursday we had the Key Stage 2 Christmas party. Everyone looked amazing in their Christmas party outfits and had lots of fun playing games in the hall, having a dance and then eating lots of lovely party food in class. Of course, we were very lucky to have ANOTHER visit from Santa who gave us a present each –  obviously we have all been very good this year!

It has been a fantastic last week of the autumn term and the Class 5 team would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year! See you in 2020!

Christmas trip

13th December 2019Coralie Forbes

This is all sooo exhausting!

We were lucky enough to have another Christmas trip out!

We had a very busy day visiting Heighley Gate garden centre, where we got to meet the main man himself Santa Claus and his Chief Elf.  We had a funtime in the softplay area, where we also had lunch together, then a browse around the wonderful display of lights and decorations.

The rest of the week we have been practicing songs for our Christmas performance, so keep an eye out for next weeks pictures of us looking amazing!

Have a great weekend.

Hadrian Hair Shop!

13th December 2019Elaine Quinn

Another busy day in the ‘Hadrian pop up salon’, we had over 50 children visit throughout the day! It was a day of festive fun, Michael Buble Christmas songs playing, glitter nails and snacks for all.

We have used some of the money raised from the hair shop to buy a shed for outdoor learning, some new floating equipment for our younger children to use in the Hydro pool and  a CD player for the quad play area.

Look forward to the next hair shop next term.

More festive fun!

13th December 2019Rachael Budden

We have had a fun filled creative week this week practicing for our Christmas performance!  We are all super proud of 6b for their brilliant performance this morning in our own version of The Snowman.  We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!  Our Christmas trip to Northern Stage to see Wolf! was also amazing.  The interactive performance and set design made us feel like we were in the play ourselves and the play as a whole was so entertaining and magical.  We then had pizza from La Famiglia which topped off a great day!

See you all on Monday for our final week!
