Hello everyone!
We’ve had a very busy week in Class 4/5B! We started the week with a party, because it was Hannah’s birthday! We decided to celebrate with a birthday tea and some disco dancing!
We’ve reorganised our classroom a bit, and have borrowed a beautiful toy kitchen which we’ve enjoyed playing in. We can do our literacy, numeracy and PSHE while we play! We’ve had great fun!
Something we love to do in our class is tell stories. We found a puppet theatre and had a great time putting on shows for each other.
We are also so creative and love painting. Look at our beautiful artwork!
We also enjoyed a sensory story about a cold, dark night. We loved touching the fur, the leather, and the feathers.
Please come to our coffee afternoon next Thursday at 1.30pm It would be lovely to see you!
We have had another super busy week in 2a!
On Tuesday in Science we learned about our bodies. We started by drawing around our friends bodies on some big sheets of paper and then labelled different body parts.
On Wednesday we discovered the hydropool was not working properly so had to be fixed. This meant we were able to take a quick afternoon visit to Dobbies to have a look at the Christmas decorations to get some ideas for some Christmas crafts. We were all very sensible looking around the shop.
On Thursday we had a new friend starting in our class. Eyah has settled in very well and has had a great first 2 days in 2a.
We are all loving our Thursday afternoon Rebound sessions in the Rebound Centre and work hard every week!
This week we have continued to develop our swimming skills. Everyone has been trying hard to swim on their front and backs with a float aid. We are looking forward to our fun session in two weeks. Nathan was proud when he picked up the hoop from under the water. Chloe was happy swimming on her back. Darren enjoyed swimming on his back. Lydia and Kinza enjoyed jumping into the pool from the side.

Is it a struggle to have your child’s hair cut?
We are going to trial run a pop up hair shop, hoping your child may cope with the experience in a calm, relaxed, familiar environment with staff they know.
We have a date for Friday 7th December where your child will have their haircut within school hours, or Saturday 15th December where you could bring your child along and be with them during the haircut.
We are asking for a £3.00 donation and all funds will be donated to school.
We can only offer dry cuts and we have qualified hairdressing staff who work in school who will be cutting hair.
We are also going to be offering a manicure/pedicure for children.

The phrase “Rebound Therapy” describes the use of trampolines in providing therapeutic exercise and recreation for people with a wide range of special needs. These include participants who may have profound and complex learning difficulties, severe and moderate learning difficulties, asd and motor coordination difficulties, dual sensory impairments or sensory processing difficulties.
Rebound Therapy is used to facilitate movement, promote balance, promote an increase or decrease in muscle tone, promote relaxation, promote sensory integration, improve fitness and to improve communication skills.
You could check with your child’s Teacher whether your child receives rebound therapy during school time and if they enjoy it.
On completion of the course you will receive a Rebound Therapy Coaching Qualification and this will enable you to deliver your own child’s therapy. Hadrian School have built the first Rebound centre in the UK which is open evenings, weekends and school holidays, meaning you can keep up with your child’s therapy out of school time.
Rebound therapy training is available for parents at a cost price of £75.00 instead of the usual £315.00.
The course runs for two days, from 9.00am – 4.30pm but can be adjusted to fit around your childcare needs if necessary.
The next course is running on the 21st/22nd January 2019.
If you would like to book a place on the training please contact David Palmer School Business Manager on 0191 273 4440 or david.palmer@hadrian.newcastle.sch.uk
With Christmas fast approaching, Class 5/6 thought we would get ahead of the game and start making Christmas cards on Wednesday morning. What time better to do it then in messy play?! The children all put a unique twist on their own Christmas cards by mixing together oil, glitter and paint all while having lots of messy fun! Here are some of the class in action.
This Tuesday, after a very energetic hydrotherapy session had relaxing massage using the oil and foot spas. This was an ideal time for the children to use their big voices, relax and have one to one interaction with peers. After massage we went on to do a great TACPAC session which involved lots of choosing, tactile experiences and moving.
We took full advantage of our soft play spot on Wednesday afternoon and had a fantastic time! The children had a great time passing the balls to one another and enjoyed lots of giggles. Leon decided we all got a bit excited, so gave Katie some deep pressure!
